Post mitsubishi lancer spark olug issue read please

so today my car died on me while driving on the hwy had the car tow home when i got there i though was like a power issue so i took spark plug out and to my surprise i find that the bottom of the spark plug was broken i dont know what to do now i am goin to replace all spark plug tomorrow i just need to know if that little piece tha broke(how much damage can cause) please any advice will be great here is detail of the car and pictures thank you

Damn that sucks man. The best way might be to take the valve cover off and use a flash light and magnet to fish it out and any other possible debris. You should probably get the valve cover gasket kit while your at it. If you get it out you might want to do a compression check too. Could've already done in the motor tho. Did your CEL come on?

Jakes suggestion is the best way to go without doing a major job and removing the head. Most definitely do a compression test, this should tell you if any damage was done. If you have access to an inspection camera that would be great. I would guess the spark plug was just defective, if the piston came up and had enough reach to destroy the top of the spark plug then there would have been a very loud bang as the piston would have had to slam into the head first.

While Ryans car was on the dyno we heard what sounded like possible rod knock and even that just barely kissed the spark plug, didnt even mess with the gap just made a small nick on the plug and took a chunk out of the head

well thank you for the suggestions i am planning on removing the cylinder head and see whats wrong there. is making a clicking sound and im guessing is a rod but will see i will keep everyone update about this i also planing on replace all the gaskets will is off
