2 codes P0725 and P0420-Please reply

Hello everyone,

I am new to the lancer community. I recently have been getting a P0725 for about two weeks. This morning I also got a P0420 as well.

I have a '08 GTS with about 96k on it. Just bought it six months ago to save on gas. This past weekend i replaced spark plugs, crankshaft positioning sensor and purchased tires and alignment on a different issue with my tires. about 3 months ago I had the muffler cut off at a local exhaust shop for sound. Other than that there has been nothing else done to this car that I know of. I was thinking about ordering a camshaft positioning sensor or a air flow since it's on the same harness but I have never had this problem before.

The engine has turned off 3 times in the past month and usually has happened in the morning after running about 15 minutes and at a red light. The idle will drop below 500 rpm and turn off switching from brake to gas on a green light. It will start right back up in neutral but im not sure why this keeps happening. Please advise.....

Any help or input is greatly appreciated!!

PO420 and PO725

This code PO420 seems to have disappeared and never come back after coming on several times in the month of May.

Code PO725 -- after discussing with a few mechanic friends I decided to finally take this to the mitsubishi shop in Downers Grove. They simplified my problem into idle fluctuation under heavy load which seems to have nothing to do with the code given.

They reprogrammed my computer which they stated had an old program on it however, i still have the fluctuation whenever the a/c is on to the point that it will idle so low sometimes it will die. I'm now at 106k miles and I just drive it without turning on the air until I figure this out. If anyone has any additional input please put it here _______

Joke were you able to resolve this issue at all? My 08 lancer started doing this at about 98,000 miles and currently has 101k on it I don't have the 420 code but your car issues sound the same as mine. Any info would help. I also have code p0014 exhaust variable valve timing syatem target error and p0017 crankshaft/camshaft (exhaust) position sensor phase problem p0014 indicated that the bank 1 exhaust camshaft position timing was advanced beyond its limits for a predetermined period of time. Any help would be great. I plan to Google search like a phene
