Hello,

i have a 2008 lancer es. My battery died in my key, I took it out to see what it was: 3v cr1620. I put it back in the key and now it wont turn the car over.... it will turn to accessory but nothing else. Not sure why....I have replaced the battery before. I have a backup key that came with the car....never used it, can use it manually to open car and start it...

How does the tech work? What do I need to do

Does it still unlock the car?

 

Not sure, but maybe your key lost it's programming and may need to be reprogrammed.
I had a key that somehow kept losing it program to start the car, turns out the chip was defective, had to replace the key with new one and a mechanic friend programmed it for me
