Help!!! Trouble with intake...

Ok, First off im new to the forums, so lemme just start out by saying whut up to everyone! iight, now for my problem. I just installed an intake in my 2003 ES, now it was workin fine for maybe 2 weeks when all of a sudden it felt as if I had lost some power, and the intake sounded like it was a stock intake...? so I disc. the batt again, and put the intake on again, and it seems to be workin again, till 2 days later i could feel a little decrease in power again, and the deeper sound is going away...

Now whenever I disc. the batt and start it up again it seems to go back to how it should be. But I followed the right steps when i installed it, let the car run for 10 mins, then drove it for about 20 to get the comp used to it.

So im confused here? is it the intake? the ecu? or did I do something wrong? Have any of you guys heard of anything like this before? I just got my lancer so im a newb. Any help would be greatly appreciated! i asked most of my friends and they dont know, they have never heard of intakes doing that... some one plz help!

How long was the battery disconnected for? And check the MAF sensor as well. And not thay it makes much difference, but is it a short ram intake or a cold air system?

thats one thing u gotta make sure you got right. just make sure its on correctly. if it is, make sure you plugged the MAS back in. more often than not, people forget that they disconnected the plug.

You don't have to disconnect the MAF, it just helps sometimes for installation purposes. There is a right way and a backwards way for the MAF sensor. The side of the MAF sensor, the side that was bolted to the stock airbox, needs to be on the same side as your new filter. So remember, side with bolts, towards front of car, same side as the filter. If you would like to see a pic, I'c be happy to take one for you. Hope this helps fix your problem!
