Cruise Control

Pretty much since I bought my car I have had a small problem with my cruise control. If I turn on my CC and then turn it off, when I restart my car it is on. And will stay on for a very long time. I havent figured which combination of butting pushing turns it off permatly but usually about a month after it being on when I start my car I can get to go away. I have talked to some other Lancer owners, some with this problem, some without. It seems there is no consistancy to the degree of this. Anyone have a solution? Or know what is causing it.

Have you checked the manual for proper directions on how to use the CC? Is it possible you're doing something wrong manually? I never used and do not intend to use my cruise control (I think we went so far as unhooking it), but it seems odd to me that a mistake so big would go unchecked and unscreamed about for so long.

Ya I have checked that. I dont use it but if I hit it by accident or the odd time I may use it. I just keep turning it off untill it goes away. Sometimes I try to re-start it and then cancel it before I turn it off but it doesn't seem to help. Its not a big problem, it's just anoying.

That's very strange. If you can still do so without harassment, try asking the dealership what they think. In fact, try calling before stopping by to see if they've had similar complaints. This is the first I've ever heard of the problem.
