incorrect egr flow on 03 lancer oz rally
Basically my egr valve isn't getting enough voltage to open. Silinoid has been replaced. Code came back then pcm replaced, code came back and now car dealer is telling me to go to mitsubishi for answer. It is only receiving five volts. They believe it is the circuit ground. Could it just be corroded ground connections?? Plz help!

Just delete the Egr system with a 5 dollar delete plate and leave it like that ! Thats what i have !

where to get one?

What kind of mileage loss occurs with this setup?

I don't know about the plate, but if you knew the code(codes) that came up that would be the most helpful. As far as the five volts, did they tell you what that was for, I mean what wire they got that voltage from? If the code was just for insufficient flow it could be the valve passages are getting(or are already) clogged due to carbon build up and the valve needs to be replaced or cleaned since they already replaced the solenoid.

The 5 volts were coming off the connection for the egr from pcm. So as near as I can figure the ground connectors were horribly dirty. So I sprayed some battery corrosion spray on it used a brush. And the rim went way down via start cause it would get there and sit above 1500 for a few now it is 1400 or so in warm up.. sounds happier. I am going to change out the hard wear on it today. Apparently, the filament is just warming up in the solenoid but not enough to kick it open. Any Thoughts?

My car threw that code when the vacuum line that goes to the EGR valve came loose, so verify that the vacuum line is in place at the egr valve, if it is the take the valve off and clean the valve and the passages the best you can and reinstall everything.
FYI EGR valve opens or closes because of vacuum, the pcm sends a signal to the solenoid and it opens letting the vacuum from the intake manifold open the valve, when the pcm sends the signal to the solenoid to close, there is no vacuum and the EGR valve closes. |
OMEGA is spot on, try that first before anything else, but if you had a definite change in running condition with cleaning the terminals, you may just have found your problem.
