I'm pretty sure that it is. PM ryancb or tekkman69. They installed it themselves. Just a matter of bolts and hangars.

for christ sake cat-back means from the cat on the manifold to the pipe at the bumper AND EVERYTHING inbetween. Why do you think these guys who have it installed have smoking and stink issues for a little bit? The new cat! Imagine that. My Greddy is here tomorrow or friday and that will settle this once and for all, or someone who already has it on can settle this.

Will replacing the cat with a test pipe make you emissions illegal? I know how restrictive a cat can be, and from what I hear the Lancer has 2 of them? Can this be right? Or is that just a California thing?

Ok, here you go, no it does not replace/remove any of the cats. You remove all the old piping from the cat to the back. All the stock parts are used except a few for the new muffler wich goes from a three hole gasket to a two hole gasket. there so if you want to rid the cats or whatever you need headers or test pipe or whatever. there you go.

::edit:: stock meaning the hangers and what not

Messing with any emission control equipment is a Federal offense if I'm not mistaken. Boku bucks. It's a shame all the Lancers got blasted with a Cali spec exhaust setup.

And a more important question for you... Are there any left? I just emailed our sponsor, cuz we can get dyno numbers for the system. But of course, only if there's one left. v
I'm not sure what you mean, but we do have a few left. I think we have completely tapped Greddy out though... Excellent people!

Also, I know that others have replyed to the cat-back question, but the exhaust starts after the 2nd cat and goes all the way to the tip. The system is 50 state legal, because of sound not emissions. Exhaust do not have to be "CARB' legal, just under the sound dbl level for evey state. That's it...

I was asking if you had any left because I was hoping to get dyno numbers for the catback. However, I don't need one now, cuz one of our car club members beat me to it. Now it's just a matter of strapping the car onto a dyno. Thanks though, Blair.

So I was just wondering, how does it feel to be a smart *** and be wrong. Man you acting like a jerk is not helping anyone, especially if your miss-informing people.

By the way, for those of you who want to know, the smell and the smoke from the exhaust is just the casting resins and coating being burnt off the metal in the new exhaust system. Its completely normal.

That really blows? Is there any reason why decided to do this instead of the way every other manufacturer does it? Looks like I'm going to be ordering a test pipe in the near future.

As for other cat-back exhausts, DC Sports and Borla are both looking into making a cat-back system for the US Lancer.

sorry I was tired and angry after work when I posted. I know nothing about this stuff and I have never upgraded vehicles until now and I just order things that look good. Im making the other newbies look bad. Since the stock cat is still there I dont under stand the preformance gains. And if you did use the test pipe will it match? Someone has previously stated that the Greddy piping is close to 2.5" Im not too sure the test pipe is that big, maybe some leakage/fit/gasket issues? I will measure it when it gets here and call RRM and ask or does anyone have a quick answer?

Do you know where I can get some headers or if they make headers to go with this exhaust?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't DC Sports only a Honda/Acura company. Never seen them make any parts for any other cars.
