this will depend:

1. if you need to let the exhaust cool down if you just drove it. that can take 15mins->an hour
2. if you have a hard time removing the bottom left bolt ..

For me personally, I was able to install the rrm header in 45 minutes the first time I did it. It took about 30 mins each time thereafter (yes, I re-installed it a few times, as I was having bad idle issues with it installed .. so I removed it and re-installed the stock header to see if it went away, but my idle issues have gone away since installing my buschur downpipe and removing the test pipe and putting stock 2nd cat back in).

On a scale of 1-10 .. I'd give it about a 3 personally. its not hard, its just that the bottom left nut can be a pain. I ended up tieing a piece of rope on the end of a box wrench, got the wrench on the bolt and up under the header and pulled the rope to break it loose .. set the end wrench back on it and pulled again until i could loosen with my fingers. this was actually pretty easy and quick.

the rrm header does kick ***!

Install really is easy. A 3 on a scale of 10 is about right!

HOWEVER, isn't that "competitors" header in the pic an RPW header + DP? if I recall from reading dyno sheets on here, it dyno'd as one of the best performance headers on the market for our lancers. i could be wrong on that.

I have always been looking for a dyno on rrm's header and stock rest of the car. I'd also like to see what kinda gains one would get from adding a DP such as the buschur dp (mainly cause thats my setup) ..

just thinking out loud here RRM makes fantastic products and the nickel finish on that RPW header sucks, but for performance, i can't say it sucks.
What about with this finish?

static - the jet coating finish on that header is amazing. too bad the one in the pic that rock posted didn't look that good, otherwise they couldn't be ******* it, lol.

i was saying that the from-the-factory finish was not that great. whomever got that header jet coated had a fantastic job done.

back on topic - ROCK (i know this has been asked) but what are the expected gains from the RRM header?

I was planning on getting an rrm header also, but this came around as a good deal.

I have a question about the RRM header, how big is the opening connecting to the downpipe? 2.25?

Connection is 2.25 inches. Is the Jet coating extra from RPW? Pretty sure that down pipe is for a Mirage too. That is why the guy who left the RPW at our shop had to go to muffler shop and lengthen it. Next guy to install please tell me if RPW completely bolts right up and if you need to weld bung for O2. I think you have to do both with their header.

Yeah, I'm not doing the header... yet. But I'm looking into a way to move the first cat to after the downpipe, or find a 2-in-1 cat unit. Both are allowed in STS as long as they pass the sniffer test (not necessarily CARB)

You would pass the sniffer with the header. First cat is just cold start cat.
