Odd question about choice

I was all prepped for an Evo, but with college I decided to hold off until after school when I can more comfortably afford it. I live where it snows, Rochester, NY. I have a Mustang currently, plan on selling it, have around 10-11k to work with to get something new. I've been looking at Durangos, Land Rover Discoveries and some early 90s 3000GT VR4s. I have also been toying with the idea of an Integra or possibly a GSX Eclipse. I don't know what to think. I'm leaning towards a Durango simply for the practicality and change of pace from a "sporty car" to something more luxurious, big and "pimp". Not sure what to do.

It needs to be driven year round, and I want something reasonably fun to drive etc. If I get an SUV, I plan on getting some 20s just to have some fun, cause it's not like I'm going to make it fast. I just need something reliable, and the thought of a early 90s DSM kinda worries me. I'd be looking at a 91-94 VR4 versus a 98-99 Durango etc. Can't help but think all those extra miles are hurting reliability long term.

I'm looking for opinions, suggestions, comments. I've explored most of my options I think...not much left out there I'm intersted in. Don't want a boring car.

IMO, it doesn't get any more boring than an SUV.

If I had to choose between a high mileage 93-94 VR4 vs a high mileage 95-97 GSX, I'd probably take the GSX.

I'm am a big fan of the VR-4's I used to have two, now I have the one. They are a BIG pain to modify past the basics, but if you need year round transportation thats sporty and handles, the VR-4 is it. All-wheel drive like the EVO, 320hp (more than EVO), 6-speed (1996 and heigher) activve aero front and rear spoilers, ajustable suspension, .... the list goes on and on.

I recomment you go with a newer, unmodified VR-4. 1996 or newer. 1995 and before were OBDI. Rumor has it the 1996 6g72 block was the best one they made. I personally dont like the 1991 - 1993. 20 hp less, 5-speed, and flip up headlights that scream eighties.

Go with a 1994 or newer, at least.
