Looks like the Chrystler 300 and Dodge Magnum got into a fight and they both lost.

You can't just get a classic car's name ( that made North of 450hp) and slap it on the back of a Crystler and expect the "baby boomers" to buy it ! I guess only time will find out about its sucess.

if it has a V8, independent rear suspension, and a manual tranny I'm definitely gonna check them out. Mopar has done great things with factory performance parts for the SRT-4 and I think they would do the same for this. If it's only an auto like the 300 or the Magnum then no dice....and if it has a solid rear axle that joke of a new Rustang then it gets the boot too.

Yeah, I really would have liked their original concept charger design, with the "Stealthy" rear doors so it looked more like a two door..

I do think you may see a dodge challenger at some point based on this new platform..

Agreed, that thing is hideous!

I'm really not feeling the direction Dodge/Chrysler is going with all their new cars and trucks. Same with Cadillac. This brand new Viper parked next to me the other day. It was sweet and all, but IMO, the old Viper looked WAY better.....

The thing with the Viper is that 525lbft of torque. Its pretty good at swaying opinions.

True. But its still a four door sedan with a big v8, meaning its not going to be the lighest of the bunch. A fun daily driver, possibly dragger? Yes. Track hero? Not by a long shot.

And BTW, the new SVT Mustang, like most SVT Mustangs, will have IRS. The stock GT v8 is damn potent, put the car on a diet, add IRS, and you should have something pretty competent.

Looks like a stupid family car. It'll be a piece of junk just like the Magnum and 300M.

Japanese auto makers must laugh at what Mopar has been turning out. I could hear it; a big fat car for a big fat American a*ss.

Agreed, the Viper is an awesome car. I was merely commenting on the looks. I like the old Viper's looks better than the new one. For performance, the Viper is wicked!

here's the official sketch from Dodge on how the production version will look:

More info here:

http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=100949

it'll have 40 more HP than the new Rustang GT and will probably be nearly the same size and weight. Still crossing my fingers for the manual and IRS because the official specs on the SRT-8 300C only comes in automatic.....ugh!
