Word from Toyota is this:
Mk5 Supra will have two offerings, a $30k v6 model made to compete with the 350z, and a $50k model powered by either a compressed v6, v8 or a NA v8, made to compete with the C6 'Vette.

The picture posted looks more like the Toyota "Volta" that was shown earlier this year. I imagine it to be a Lexus badged supercar, with around 500hp. But what the hell do I know?

Ha! Toyota pulled the Celica and MR2 in the states and you think we're going to get anything half way decent???? I would love to see the Supra back here but I think Toyota's sales would have to plummet before they do that...

does anyone know if they are going to stick to the in-line 6 or are they switching to a V design? Wouldnt it save space to design a new V6 for the MK5 Supra? I mean they could save space and inlarge the pistons for more power. If it were me and not Toyota bums in charge it would have an all aluminum V6 with larger pistons and a stronger block. use some light-weight componets in the internals and make it rev faster. make a good differental to increase power to the wheels. have a bigger intercooler on the TT and a high pressure oil pump to allow higher boost. also with the reduced legnth engine they could push the engine further back and lower it making it have perfect balance with a trans-axle. make the wheels bigger...maybe 18's in front and 19's out back oh and duel exhaust is a must.

Most definatly switching to a V type design. Not sure as of yet if it will be a v6, v8, or if you will be able to choose...

You're insane dude...the celica was getting old and mr2 didnt sell worth a ****...Toyota is number 2 right now worldwide in sales...they can do whatever they want and it's not going to hurt them. I mean, they're bigger than Ford and they just intro'd the GT40. Toyota is a visionary..read not conservative...company
