got this from the srt forums. this guy drove an 89 probe gt

ran an EVO VIII tonight. i kept up with him on roll races. never got to race from a dead stop. really though it was one of the best races i had i a long time. i have a 89PGT, no air filter, running 14-16psi on a zombie chip with a 2.5" glasspack in place of the cat, crush bent 2.5" DP, stock exhaust piping to another 2.5" glasspack and that's IT!!! i know the EVO's aren't anything special on the highway but my car has a lot less HP then his car. had a 60-110 race with me getting a 1-2 car jump and he couldn't catch me. he remained atleast 1 car behind me at 110 cause i could see his whole front end and space still. i think he might have started in fourth though...i went to third. but we went again from about 35 or 40 to about 85. both of us went from second...this time i was more fair and let him down shift. i did punch it a split second before him. i started my front bumper at his front door and with the jump i got to right before dead even stayed like that through 2nd then third he pulled so that i was at his front tire and in fourth i fell back only to his front door again and he wasn't pulling away. seems that when we initially shift he pulls a foot and then it evens out the rest of the gear. he pulled off the highway so i never got to talk to him. I am still so stoked right now though...lol

also i had raced this same EVO about a month ago but i was at stock boost....needless to say i got RAPED, but what a difference a few psi makes...lol. he must have been just scratching his head as to what the hell just happend. after the 60-110 race it looked like he was fiddling around with something in his car. he turned the cabin light on and did like a couple test pulls. maybe he was checking to see if everything was still working on his car....lol

also i know that an SRT would easily have beaten me. but still happy with keeping up with an evo.
