For anyone on this board who contemplated getting one of these cars, be glad you didn't. My old roommate has one with just 10k miles on it and now will not start because it is too cold (not even below freezing yet here in VA) Funny thing is, the car is garage kept and still won't start!

 

friend at work has one dont think he has had any trouble with his

will have to ask him about it since it has been freezing at nights

 

never knew rx-8's had that issue...guess i should stay away from rotary engines...

Gear heads like myself care. This is a "other cars" forum so I thought it was interesting reading, esp since rotary engines are unique and in many different ways good and bad.

i was really close to buying a new rx8 but decided to go with the evo in the end. . . . . .and this adds one more reason why i'm glad i did.

Add EVO to the list as well cuz they whine like hell in cold weather also.

which part of the car whines? I don't have any whine.

 

my drivetrain cries when it's cold, thats it...

 

I was real close to buying the RX8 as well... test drove it and everything... the Evo was just faster, and handled better... besides who needs a car that starts ? ..JK

 

Just switch to synchro Mesh... that will fix the whine... I had it too, everytime it got below 40...
