S4 V8 v.s. E46 M3 v.s. EVO

Has anyone with their stock EVO ran against any stock M3s or S4s (V8)?? Either 0-60, 30-80, 80-120 and any highway. I really am trying to figure out how this 2l turbo does agaisnt these Germans in such runs. Also, if you had extra money, would you go for a BRAND NEW 05 EVO for $32k or a barely used w/6k 04 S4 V8 for $41K?? Thanks guys

just to warn you.. m3's and s4's both have powerful top ends as well as a torque low end.... only significant advantage the evo has is from zero or on a road course.... on a highway they will pull on the evo almost everytime

i love the evo, really like the M3 and have always been an S4 fan, but do not like the new body style and the v8 while sounds good does not feel all that powerful when driving it.

The Evo will beat both the m3 and S4 stock.

I own E46 M3 and a Evo and my parnter owns an 04 S4. THere is no way a stock Evo is gonna pull on these cars on the highway. But on the race track road courses Evo rocks all the time. Throw the occasional Porche wipping in there for fun too. Few cars can match a stock Evo on the Track. Barely none can touch a modified one.( ie supension and engine with proper tuning.)

I have both M3 and EVO. from my exprience M3 has more top end power and the power is more instant... you don't have to wait for turbospool but I like the way it is and that is why my 03 silver m3 is for sale!

yeah unfortunately a stock evo will fall on its face at highway speed... maybe a boost controller to keep boost up at 19 and maybe some cams.

I raced an E46 M3 today from 80-130mph. Don't know if he was stock or not but I pulled a few cars on him w/ tb, ebc, & flash.

For as much as I hate to admit it, the M3 will destroy a stock Evo in a straight line race. I have an M3, and it smokes my MR and it will smoke stock EVOs. My MR can't hang with the M3's top end pull. On a lighter note, I have crushed a few STi's with the M3. I thought the Sti's would hang with the bigger engine and more horsepower, but...nahh. I had an eclipse gsx that would spank the M3 though. But I sold it to get the MR.....something I am second guessing.....

I got the MR thinking I would not want to mod it....but after getting stomped on by the M3, I am second thinking that decision. The MR is a cool car, but I bought it because I was buying the hype about it being sooo much better than the regular EVOs. I never owned a regular EVO, but at least power wise (which is more important to me than I thought) there probably is not much of a difference.
