So for a merry christmas present to my lil sis I told her I would buy and change all the belts on her '02 Galant. Big mistake on my part, I think, I'm already out $110. There are 2 "timing" belts, 1 is the balance shaft belt the other is the "real" timing belt. There are also 2 accessory belts. On the galant forums everyone says take it in. I don't take anything in for service but this is making me nervous.

Anyone got any tips that pertain to this gen galant? I know the general timing belt stuff like marking positions and what not, I have changed a few in the past. The galant crowd isn't as tech savvy as the lancer crew.

 

id say take it in too, some of those belts are in wierd positions.... sometimes around or underneath the motor mounts... itll save u lots of headaches just taking it in for service
