Evo vs Transam firebird

... The slowest EVO in the world. Geesh, I fely bad enough about the car then, why you wanna rub it in?
The truth is that many EVOs run like the "03 I had. I've spoken with a number of guys who had similar experiences...... My consolation is that the WRX was about 3ths slower than the EVO
I've seen EVOs go fast at the track, but none in stock form. All the fast ones had at least a MBC and many had lots more stuff. It's true that driving skill plays a big part in these things, but it's also true that a V8 with an automatic tranny is also simpler to drive. Just hit the gas when the light changes, no missed shifts, no clutch to bog, etc.
I've seen plenty of Camaros and Firebirds and Corvettes that ran in the 12s and low 13's at the track in Commerce, GA. I've also seen lost of mustangs that run like that. True, the Mustangs are not stock, but I think the GMs were stock. Those things are fast, no matter how you slice it. After my EVO was modded to around 260whp, I got a 13 flat at 106 before the clutch was toast. I never ran it again because the night I went with the new clutch, the A/C compressor seized and I was left stranded. I've since traded that car in on a new MR. I'll take it to the dyno soon to see what power it makes. It's real easy to calculate what speeds and ETs a car will run based on whp...... An EVO that puts down right at 200 whp cannot run low 13s or 100 mph traps. No way, no how...
Its a pushrod motor, which means the camshaft is inserted at the bottom of the block (where each cylinder bank joins to make a "V" at the bottom of the block and the pushrods extend through to the top of the block and contact the rockers in the head which opens and closes the valves. One cam for pushrod V8's.
Two cams for SOHC V8s.
Four cams for DOHC V8s.

SilverEVO8- have you hit 11s yet, I know you were really close? Just wondering, because your car has very good trap speed for your time (I believe this is the right SilverEVO8).

... The car was finally sorted out by Dyno4mance and Vishnu. It put down 300whp with pump gas and I had a new Exedy twin disk clutch but I never went back to the dragstrip. I guess it could have possibly run high 11s on race gas but I'll never have the chance to find out. I got sick of the car and all the little (and big) problems that came out of the modifications done by Busted Solutions.
In the end, we put the car as much back to stock as possible. Left the HKS cams, cam gears, 680 injectors, walbro pump and Xflash, and of course, the clutch. The car put down 236 whp on the DD dyno just before I took it to the dealer and traded it in on my new MR....
I'll see what it puts down at the DD dyno one day soon.......

I would guess I have a factory average car, many have gone faster stock. I am just showing this becuase you said it was not possible.
