2001 Prelude 10.5k miles at 18k?

I'm going to go look at a prelude this coming sunday and I would like to know if a 2001 Prelude with 10,500 miles with a asking price of 18k is a decent price?

base or SH? auto/stick? KBB says it's worth $15,900 if the car is in excellent shape with the 5spd(base).

Regardless of what KBB says what the car "should" be worth, since you will probably never see another 01 prelude (or any car for that matter) with 10K miles, ask yourself "Do I mind paying 18 grand for basically a mechanically new prelude?" I would do it myself if a Prelude is what I really wanted.

is it a repo? 01 prelude with 10k sounds like it could be, that or a salvage title maybe. is it stock?

No offense but for 18K why would you want a prelude? For that money you could get: 1) New SRT-4 2) Used WRX 3) Used RSX-S 4) Used s2000 All of these cars are better preformers than the prelude (or can be modded easily to out perform the prelude)

1. Would you buy a srt4, or a dodge for that matter?
2. Never buy a used turbo vehicle, especially a wrx
3. Reliability... but pretty bottomless torque
4. Torque-less wonder

I say get it, have fun.

lol, you speak of lacking torque as if the Prelude has some sort of abundance of it. Buy a ralliart!

1) lots of people would say that about mitsubishi too
2) It really depends on the previous owner, I would probably rephrase that statement too.......never buy a modded turbo car without service records and/or from a young kid.
3) Hondas are not known for thier torqey engines...........but supposedly the k20 is a pretty mod friendly engine (ecu reflash and exhaust does wonders)
4) True doesnt have alot of torque, but has lots of style, drop top, and performs as well as or better than all roadsters in it's class (for much less money too). nothing, i mean nothing beats being able to drop your top.

Sorry, you werent in the right gear. A STOCK s2000 will take a STOCK evo from a roll to triple digit speeds. believe me, I've tested this on numerous occasions with my bro's s2000 and my evo (many testing conditions: Summer, winter, switching drivers, day, evening, ect). The highway is where the s2000's powerband really shines.
