hahaha, holy crap batman, can you say elise. i guess you can tell who owns lotus! question though. why does the elise have 190 hp from a 1.8L and this makes 170 from a 2.4L. that seems kida odd, espeically since the lotus will be getting better mileage and rumor has it that this will be a luxuory model - not as stiff suspension nor as aggresive handling, plus a higher weight body - oh and dont forget that the 2zz motor in the elise will last for 200,000 miles like all toyota motors do. yes the ecotec is a good motor, but they dont last as long as the toyo's do. that doesnt make too much sense. oh well, still a hot looking car. i personally would prefer the elise, but i wouldnt mind this saturn.
you know what they should do, is throw in the 2.0L supercharged redline motor in this puppy. that would be pretty cool. bump the boost a little and be putting down around 220hp. now that would be a sexy car!!! come on GM get with it

A couple news items I read on the Sky (name DEFINITELY sucks *L*) mentioned that there'll be a higher performance version coming out about a year after it's introduction and it will have the S/C'd 2.4 - that'd be better competition for the Elise...and probably still at about half it's price.
Pontiac will also be getting into the small roadster game with it's upcoming "Soltice" - same powerplant(s) as the Sky.

The Sky will begin production in 2006 - I do like the stance of the car with those big 18" wheels with healthy 245 width tires pushed out to the corners. I think the name alone would keep me from buying one though *L*.

I LOVE it. Its a very cool, inexpensive roadster that actually has some testosterone and doesn't scream "flammer" like the Miata. Hopefully its dynamically as good as it looks

ah its the opel speedster FEB 2001 issue page 28 "The opel is slightly heavier than the lotus but still a relative featherweight at 1,929lbs even with the dowdy, 145 hp, 2.2 liter evotec engine"
