is it worth it to buy a 92 gsx with bent valves?
My buddy is selling his 92 eclipse gsx to me for 1700. It has low miles, and is in really good condition besides the fact that his timing belt slipped and bent some valves. I can get a replacement head for free from a friend, but what other problems could occur with the older dsms, when the timing belt slips? Any info would be great.
well, as long as they just bent and none of them broke off and took a trip through the exhaust runners...but that's like 1/1000.
now, find out if it was an early or a late 92. you want an early 92. with a 6bolt & 4 bolt rear end. The only thing the early 92 didn't benefit from is the bigger brakes from the 93+ gsx
the 92 is definatly the way to go if you're starting with a 1g dsm.
i'm assuming it's a manual, I'm assuming it's got decent miles...
goto dsm.org and read, read read. think 300hp for like $500
