US STI performance data "speculation"

the EVO 7

Even with 300hp the sti can't outperform the deadly 7

...I'm sure our 8 won't be too far behind...

Well, the JDM EVO ones is using 100octane gas and is JDM...not the U.S version. And look what happen at 100MPH, but still just a speculation.

When you compare the speculated STi performance to the 2002 Evo VII, it's a dead heat, at least up to 100mph. The difference would totally be in the drivers.

This isn't as big a deal as you'd expect. JDM 100 octane gas is the RON octane number. I use Sunoco Ultra 94 octane in my car, and according to my email to Sunoco, this has a 99 RON rating. Normal premium gas around here is 93 octane, which has a RON number of somewhere between 97-98. The 100 RON would equal about 95 in our US system, which might allow an extra half psi of boost over Ultra 94 octane.

Now, if you're stuck in California with 91 octane (~95-96 RON), then you're just screwed! That's worth at least 1-2 psi of boost potential lost, as detonation will set in much sooner on that crap gas.

its not our fault there is a higher concentration of cars that use high octane gasoline than the rest of our country. we have to dilute the 93 octane just to have enough 91 octane for all those cars. what r we supposed to do about it?

Hey, no one's blaming you, we're just saying it must suck to be you! You have the best roads in the country, and the worst gas!
