$38000 to $45000 for a Mustang.

I know it is fast.... but it still a mustang.

There are too many other cars I would spend that on before even thinking about one.

I have to agree with JTB. It looks very good, but for that price I can find a "better" car. It will bw interesting to see what kind of numbers it puts up though.

The new mustang looks even better. I've hated the look of the mustang the past 10 years. .finally they redid it and the saleen is hot

I can't wait to see what the new Cobra looks like and how it performs. That should be the Mustang to get.

good luck getting one. So far at my dealership, we've sold 16 new mustangs, 4 of which have been delivered because the other 12 are still being built. Ford is really backed up on orders on all the regular Fords, let alone the GT's. I can only imagine what the Saleen back up would be.

The only thing that bugs me about that page is that Saleen suggests the styling is entirely unique to that company. Did it occur to them that a good portion of the styling actually comes from Ford? This for instance...

Its signature long hood and short rear deck emphasize the Saleen muscle under the bonnet and its traditional rear-wheel drive.
Wow, I didn't realize that every '05 Ford Mustang was front wheeled drive and had the cab pushed all the way to the front.

I do think, though, that $45,000 is too much for a supercharged car with only 400hp. SVT will come along and again blow the doors off that trim line for about $5000 less. Other than that, it sounds like it will be a nice, good looking car.

Rumor has it that the SVT Cobra is staying with the live rear axle.

I guess if your thing is drag racing then it will be a great car.

i'm actually disappointed with Saleens designers they did a great job with the sideskirts and rear but that front is too ugly...it doesn't fit that MUSCLE car look...its more like their designers got lazy and thought it would be cool to put the S7 front onto their mustang  I'm really digging the plastic panels in the back that go inbetween the taillights, it even deletes one of the taillight bars which is pretty cool looking...thats prolly the only thing i didn't like about the new stock 05 stangs is that empty space inbetween the taillights and that lame chrome cap in the middle.

I like these Stangs better...i would like to note that my fav of all of these listed would be Steeda, street scene and pauls high performance.

Hopefully they are going back to a live axle. The majority of Mustang owners drag race them, and this would seem to suit them best. Plus, it might be a little cheaper. At any rate, until Ford can develop a better IRS, they shouldn't put it on the new Mustang platform.

Then again, with the new chassis out, Ford better get on developing a really good IRS that can take full advantage of the stiffer chassis. Hopefully they can eliminate most of the wheel hop that exists on the '03/'04 Cobras.
