G/F just picked up a Saturn Redline. Its the same car as the SS with different bodywork. It's a shade faster than her chipped VW GTI 1.8T. It's strong point is handling. Almost zero body roll and they're coming out with LSD this spring. THe only problem they have right now is that there is absolutly no aftermarket support.

I think that the cobalt is using the ecotec motor which is the same block that Lisa Kubo ran last year when she was with Saturn...

yeah it's an ECOTEC 2.0 DOHC 4 cyl inline @ 202hp. only the ss coupe has the supercharger. the lower models have the 2.2L ECOTEC DOHC @ 145hp.

yea there's only one RWD chevy car at the moment. Too bad though. They shoulda put a 6 cyl and a supercharge that would be even better. Come on... why use Ecotec on a 4cyl??

Chevy does have "staged" upgrages in the works for this car a la the Mopar upgrades from Dodge for the SRT-4. Give it a year and there'll be lots of stuff for this car.

Just a heads up, the dealer we bought our Redline from put 87 octane in. They made a big point of telling us that it will run on the cheap stuff. Consequently, both the car we test drove and the car we bought were down on power untill we were able to run a couple of tanks of premium through.

Only real problem they have is a bad case of wheel hop.
