Yeah, at WOT the generator is producing roughly around 1200 amps.. to each traction motor.. each set of wheels has it's own motor. I was told those generators could supply quite a few houses with power..

I use to work for GE and was part of the AC 4400 and AC 6000 Testing program in the field. (4400 HP and 6000 HP) You would not believe how advanced those things have gotten. No longer just big sut pouring beasts. I take it you work for BNSF? I did most of the field tests on the UP line. Also spend a summer overseeing GE maintenece out of the Lincoln, NE yard on the BNSF line. Was responsible for the inservicing of most of the new Dash 9 units that BNSF bought in the late 90's. Interesting work and a great learning experience.
