Trade Evo VI for Escort ?

Ok this might be in the wrong thread, but I need as many opinions as I can get, mods can move it if they like.

Most of you know I have the pleasure of owning a E6. Unfortunatlly this car can not be LEGALLY shipped to the states. I stress LEGALLY cause I want to be able to drive the car back home with out worring about getting it seized. Now I while searching the nhtsa website I was looking over the eligiblity of importation list and came accross the Escort RS Cosworth. Now I have had a run in with one of those with my Evo and I will tell you it was fun. I know its not the most prettiest things in the world but I like it.

It has almost the same performance numbers as the Evo and its legal for importation. I would like to get the public's opinon on this. For those who dont know what it looks like.....

So, you're asking if we will trade a cosworth for your evo, or what are you selling your evo for, huh... i'm confused... Selling Evo VI, and then you post asking if the Cosworth is cool... Well, yes, they're fast, ever see that.. I think it's like Rundown in Sweden video, where the Supra is being chased by some other car, that other car is an Escort

Cossies are cool as hell. I'd get one -- it's more "unexpected" than the EVO.

Cossies are bad-***, why can ford of europe build a genuine sti/evo competitor and we get stuck with crapstangs? seriously though, the reason you can import them is that Sun international (in phoenix i think) did all the federalising, EPA paperwork etc. not sure if they are still in business but before lotus imported the elise, the got them federalised using integra type-r engines. There used to be a guy with a escort cosworth in my town, my eyes nearly popped out of my head when i saw it. they are rarer than skylines in this country.

The Escort RS Cosworth is a very cool car. Stock for stock, the numbers are actually slightly worse than an Evo VI--TME, but it's still a cool car. The engine is pretty bulletproof (bascially the same as the Sierra Cosworth) but even laggier than an Evo. When they were new, they ran close to the equivalent of $40K, so they're a bit more expensive than an Evo.

I wouldn't mind having one

It would be a great sleeper. I don't think most people would know what it is. However, I wouldn't trade an Evo for one.

Personally, I would also prefer an Evo VI--TME to an Escort RS Cosworth. However, if he can't drive the TME on the street and this one can be federalized...then it's a no-brainer.

Cosworth all day. Evo is cool and especially a VI, but come on now...It's a Cosworth, the rarity of that car in the states makes it a no-brainer, let alone the legal concern with your VI.

Key word is federlized. I can drive the Cosworth down the street with no problems. I know that performance wise it cant compare to the Evo but it would definitly be a sleeper. The one I am looking at getting will have about 300-320 at the wheels so I will be able to keep up with mild Evos.

Cossie for sure. They don't make em anymore. And that wing!

I'd pick one up in a heartbeat if I could find a relatively healthy example.

There are a few of street-legal (already converted) Escort RS for sale in the States that I know of. You may want to sell you EVO VI and get the Cossie here instead of shipping one...
