Stock turbo pressure is 12.5psi with it tapering down around 5600 rpms.
You can turn the boost up on the stock turbo to about 16lbs max. After that, it will be pushing nothing but hot air, and feel slower in doing so.
I recommend getting an upgrade pretty quick. The best bang for the buck is the EVO III Big 16G. However, you will need to fab an install kit or buy one. If you dont want to go that route, then I recommend picking up a used FP Big T28. It bolts straight on, and still pushes out the same CFMs as the Big 16G. I had one on my former 99 GST, and it pulled like a little mother. Pair it up with some cams, and you will have yourself a nice 12 second FWD.
