How much are they asking for the GT? I looked at one and they were asking for $28k.. seems like for a few more $$ you could easily get an evo.

New Eclipse is hot as hell I think. Saw one when I went to get my plates for my 05 RA. Like the fact the V-6 puts out 260 h.p. and the sound system was Rockford Fosgate.

You beat me to it(FlLancer..lol) ... for the price of a FWD, HE can own an AWD car that He can have fun with all year long .. and yes,.. like his lancer it has 4doors it has the get up and go and it HAS(Correct me if I am wrong) about the same fuel consumption as the eclipse with only 2 doors, 2 wheel Drive, and Normally Aspirated..

Things that make you go Hmmmmm... lol

you can make you own intake.. piece of cake... exhaust u can get that made. 263hp is 100000000x's better than 120hp. right now its the better choice than the lancer.. i know that but i love my b!tch lolol so im gonna keep her.. other wise i'd be trading her too!

One of the sales reps tried to talk me into getting the eclipse, i asked him about the evo since it was just a little bit more. His response was "well we don't have any evo's here but we can order one for you". Insurance would also probably be less with the evo than the eclipse.

If you look at the car long enough youll know what i mean. Inside the wheel well looks horrible and it the whole car just looks totally unrefined if you sit there long enough and look at it.

Yes buy the Eclipse, Mitsubishi needs you too. Plus it's a pretty good car. Buy it and go kill SRT-4s, J/K or am I.

You have a modded Lancer. What kind of power do you make on it? I don't think it's going to be much faster if at all assuming you are making some good gains from your mods. If you want a Mitsubishi that is an upgrade from a regular Lancer get an EVO or a 1G or 2G Eclipse GSX.

i guess the only reason why i hadnt really thought about getting an Evo is because I dont know how to drive stick and dont know anybody that owns one to teach me.

For whatever reason my mods still dont give me much power - all i have a sr intake, axleback exhaust and the rest is suspension - front strut, anti sway bar, 17" rims/tires. I think if my lancer performed better i wouldnt be so pressed to get something faster. Is there something else I could do to make the lancer perform better? (cant do turbo)

Just a little over a year ago I sold my piece of crap 96 eclipse for 5600 bux.. the only thing it had was a nice looking body kit and rims which I did myself. The dealer was only going to give me $2000. If you sell your lancer ES, you would probably get around $8000 if you clean it up real nice so it looks brand new. Then put that towards whatever car you want.. like the 06 Eclipse you are considering.

It really depends on the dealer. If your car has warranty and is still in good shape, they'll give you more money for it.

No dealer is going to give you top dollar for 10 year old modified eclipses. You are better off selling a car like that yourself to the tuner crowd.

In some states, you don't pay tax on your trade, so it does save you a little money.

There's usually a $1500-$2000 spread between trade-in and private part values.

a dealership, more than likely, wont give you much for your es, so you would probably have to pay almost most of the sticker price or negotiated price on the eclipse, besides, you have already started modding your car, and the new eclipse looks like crap.

Nope no mods that will make it perform noticeably better without buying a turbo or something around the same pricerange. I have rrm srai, greddy catback, rrm header, piggyback and it's still really slow.
