Enzo and GT killer is coming
That car is the ultimate in hype. It was supposed to be released years ago but has been delayed for several times. It's also more of a cruiser if I remember right, not particularly lightweight.

But I wonder what the long term production goals are, and how many they plan on selling on a yearly basis.

The problem with that car is they designed it backwards. In order to build a proper super car, you 1st need function, and then form. That’s why some cars look weird or downright terrible. Look at the Enzo, fairly strange yet it performs perfectly as it is designed to run WELL past 200 MPH (222 flat out)
This car was drawn 1st, and then they had to figure out HOW they would get the technology to fit the design, which is the worst from an engineering standpoint. The problem now is the aerodynamics the car needs to keep it on the ground at that speed, it requires a wing but then its top speed would still drop well below the reigning champ; The Mclaran F1 which is perfectly designed car that would pull an Enzo from a roll. Look at a Zonda, ugly? Maybe but its design is perfect for high speed runs too.

Made in 1994, that car is a wonder of the world. It doesn't handle too well but me thinks it was the tires at that time. In order to achieve a 240MPH the tires can't be too soft, ya know? BMW motor too, amazing combination of German Engineering and Italian styling, can't think of a better combination.
It's like, you’re having a picnic, and you want the Italian wine and bread and food, cuz it’s perfect and well balanced, but you need ZE GERMANS to manufacture the picnic basket so the damn handle won’t fall off.
