Supra owners' way of making it seem like they have few mods when they have a lot: "BPU++".

i was debating whether I wanted a Supra or an Evo, I probably should have went with both..lol!

wow, gorgeous supra! However I would like your advice. A fella with a 98 black supra 6sp is looking to trade it for a Evo. How would you compare the two, and if you had to pick which one would you rather own? What are the perks of a Supra over the EVO / vice versa?

a 98 6spd is a rare Supra. I'd trade my Evo for that 98. How many miles? Comparing the two is hard. Its like apple and oranges. Supra is capable of insane HP. It is a highway roll on monster. The Evo is more of a stop light champion. Both have very strong bottom ends. It all boils down to what do you want to use the car for? Auto X? Track Days? Drag strip/ Street racing? Highway runs? If your looking for a auto X/ track day car then I'd say Evo. If your looking to do some highway racing or drag strip I'd say Supra. Supra is more expensive to mod, Evo parts can be had for 1/2 the price. Evo is easier to work on. I4 engine vs I6 engine. Supra getrag 6spd trannies rarely break. Evo tranny/AWD system are more fragile. Evo interior is much cheaper looking/feeling then the Supra. Supra rides like a Lexus(stock suspension). Evo is more harsh of a ride. Sorry if things are out of order, I'm just typing as I think. I really love the targa top on my Supra too. In the end, when reaching for the keys to the car, I find myself grabbing the Supra keys more often. Don't get me wrong, I still love and enjoy driving the Evo..I guess it all depends on what mod I am in. Hope this helps. i plan on keeping both. Bought the Evo cash (it was used). I only owe alittle more on the Supra. I'll pay that off before the end of this year. I don't daily drive either of them. I have the toys I've always wanted now. From here on out its saving for the future.

 

you have my dream garage........my ultimate goal is to have those two cars and a daily driver........only one more car to go.......

 

you can do it man. Just make sure you get your priorities straight. Finish school and get a good job. I graduated with my bachelors in 1999 (i was 20) and have been working ever since. Paid off my school loans and started saving. Know I'm 26 and have my dream garage. Its definitely not out of your reach. Set a goal and go for it man!! Good luck.

 

congrats man, im happy for you. thats the next goal im thinking. after paying this baby off and somewhat modding it. im gonna buy maybe a beater. and then possibly the next car to play with. maybe a 98 supra or third gen rx-7.
