i just graduated from college and i already have a job lined up to start in september ( must have my last summer vaciation before entering the real world). I dont have any loans to pay off ( can thank parents for that one and i am also very greatful for all that they have given me) and i will be living at home so i can get the supra or cobra.
I am an all around car enthusiast, some of my friends own domestics; trans am ws6, z28 etc. i am a fan of all cars as well as my friends, be it f-bodies,stangs, vettes, vipers, m3's, s4's, prosche turbos supra, rx-7 etc. I was going to get a supra a few years back, then the fast and the furious came out and i was not going to pay 30k plus for a 93 supra when a few months before that damn movie came out i could get a 98 for cheaper than that. but i got the evo when it came out instead.
i am still leaning towards the supra but i really like the look of the cobras and the sound of its supercharged v8. plus the cobras are like domestic supras and can make 500+ whp with minimal mods.

some informed insite would be great on which you would choose and why.

also cobras are able to hold 800+ whp on the stock block as well.

Or should i just say F it and go to AMS for a complete motor build up with a 35r.

 

Oh, in that cause it would be cheaper to go and build up the evo with AMS..

Supra's are still going to cost you more than a cobra. You can get a nice used cobra with less than 10k on the OD for 25K. Most supras that are left are high milege and are still 35k. If you got the cash to get a good low milege supra go for it, but if not the cobra is a highway monstrer as well for alot less money.

 

I would say the Cobra. Very easy to get more power. Simple bolt-ons=600-700whp.

Having a nice car is all well and good until you pick up a girl and can't take her back to your place cuz mom's is hawkin' the front door. C'mon now.......priorities man.

 

I guess, but really my mom is really cool and doesnt care what i do, just as long as it is not illegal or anything like that. she is not a control freak who tries to run my life. Why do i need a house i'm only 21 and i dont plan on getting married til i'm 30. I guess having two badass cars are more important to me that a house. Besides what better that free room and board. If i live at home i wont have to worry about a morgage or paying all types of bills. Remeber its work smarter not harder and use your resources wisely.
on a side note if the girl that i am with does not like the fact that i still live at home that does not bother me any and i will just kick her *** to the curb no one needs a girl whos goes out with some one for what they have and not who they are.

 

A Supra in my opinion looks better than a Cobra. The Cobra is easy and cheap to modify for great results. Dollar for dollar the Cobra is the way to go.The Supra will cost a bit more to reach the same hp as the Cobra.

$2,000 on a 03-04Cobra= 480whp
$2,000 on a Supra= not even close

You won't be disappointed either way.

Good luck finding a 93-98, manual, twin turbo supra that's stock. I haven't seen a car that wasn't modded (and 30K+) for months...

 

True, all you see nowadays is modded and Auto's (Tranny)

 

Id say 03/04 cobra they sound better (sorry v8 rumble is superior to inline 6 buzz).

Also, id have to say that 90% of the TT supras that are manuals are already modded and have high milegae.

You can get a low milleage cobra for 25k thats still stock.

Plus you already have an import always need to have 1 big v8 car.

 

Seriously-- stop buying depreciating assets and get your own pad or at least stay at home and save so you can ultimately buy a house or even rent an apartment when you are ready for more privacy. I know it is all about personal preference-- but I'd personally turn away a Ferrari to live at home for a Corolla in my own pad. Besides you could be 25 with a house worth a lot more than you paid-- which translates to big money in the bank if you cash out home equity or sell and upgrade. You're out of college-- move up to the big leagues.

 

supra no comparison. Supras hold there value, better car all round compared to a cobra. i even here from cobra guys they prefer a supra. they say cobras break down more than anything. till this day the car does not even look dated yet. its a georgous car. my best freind has one. the inside feels amazin. when ur on in the driver seat the cockpit wraps around u. the car can hit 200mph stock. it can handle better than the cobra. nothing beats the 2jze motors. actaully rb26dett hehe

 

Dude, get the supra... don't waste ya time on the ford.
