*HATER* SRT-4 Owner.
All car fanatics are haters of some sort. It has to do with how much freakin time and money car guys part with to go just that 'little' bit faster. Just about every Evo owner on these boards hates a little just like the Neon kids. Remember the Calvin pissing on Dodge, Chevy and Ford stickers 10 years ago? Nothings new just a differnt group of cars. That stuff got outa hand for a while. Mustang vs/Camaro/Grand National. I used to love the victim statements from a loser 5.0L mustang guy to a Turbo Regal on the street..."man you have a turbo thats not fair" Street racing 101: Nothings fair on the streets. Now every competitive 5.0L runs 1 or 2 turbos at all the events.
You never hear street bike riders talking smack like the car dudes. An R1 owner flaming a ZX10 guy saying "your ZX10 is ghey dude"? Doesnt happen much if any. Alot of comraderie and fun in the bike camp. Well actually the Jealous Jap bike owners will flame the more expensive Ducatis all day long cause that kid knows deep down no matter what he does to his R1 or Gsxr750 his GF will think the Ducati is prettier. I guess since all Jap bikes are $10k or less and all run 10's there is no reason to be jealous or hate(except all cars) in that community. Thats what I miss about owning a bike,
It's a big deal to alot of people paying $400-600 a month for their 'pride and joy' car and have a Neon kick thier *** after dropping big money on the Sti or Evo or vice versa. Back in the 70's a GS Stage-1 Buick would get beat by a cheap lil Nova packing a 402ci big block and nobody went to accusing his income or making victim statements on why the Nova won. It was accepted fact not to mess with a big block Nova thats all? Neon owners are ricer to the extreme and giving in to them is either going to get you mad after you loose to the cheap horspower and fuggly looks or just ignore them if they huff on you on the freeway. Best advice, dont even give in & admit they exist when they stare at you on the freeway or rev on you otherwise you are just as ghey as they are....My .02c

Its a sad excuse and failed attempt for an american car manufacturer to develop a car that *tries* to compete with foreign rally/drift vehicles that have been proven over the time period of 30 years to be nearly perfected. Hundreds of rally wins under mitsu's and subie's belt, etc.. I've driven the srt-4's before, and they are built so crappy, I wouldn't trade my OZ Rally for one. My car handles better, has a better quality interior, better quality engine/trans, and better looking exterior.. I really don't know what people are thinking when they get one of those.. but you can obviously tell they are delusional and/or jealous of other better cars.
all it has going for it is that its quick, and cheap. Cheap in more than one way..

You = " Hey look, i can join the hate-srt-4 bandwagon too! My non-existant "friends" have had their engines blown with 320 HP!"
Get a life, you feel good justifying your car purchase by convincing yourself about completely wrong "facts"?
First off- I've never heard of ANYONE ever blowing their SRT-4 block off of 320hp-340hp. I know 4 people in real life with at least 320whp, only one of them with internals because he has 400+whp. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. Ever read the SCC article where they inspect the SRT-4 block? Yea, they found it to be suprisingly well built. Read it.
Now on to your other rediculous claims: You claim that the block "Cracked." Steve anderson with over 520whp on stock internals didn't even "crack" the block, he blew a piston and some other things. The block was not cracked. In fact, i do not believe i've ever heard of anyone having their block crack. It's an iron block, and it is very strong. By saying "every car listed on the back can easily do 500+hp" you make the impression that you think they can do that on stock internals? I hope you are kidding. Even if they did achieve 500whp on stock internals, they wouldn't for long. The only one that could is the EVO. R32/wrx would die well before the srt-4 block or the 4g.

" that is an ironic concept. Who really has the wannabe rally car? Though it was never "intended" to compete with rally vehicles, it just so happens it can.... If you believe that was the intent of the designers then that only proves your ignorance. They intended it to compete with other FWD sport compacts, not rally vehicles. And it destroys all other fwd sport compacts in performance. Hence why you try to justify yourself with the next quote...

It's like you said the exact opposite of all the facts, made up categories you fit perfectly into, and base your information off of what other people who do the same thing base their information off of. I really can't think of a better example of arrogance. Congratulations though, I am glad to of found the epitome of the word.

Jealous? Not even close. Its a piece.

nothing is really wrong with SRT-4s its the drivers that give the car a bad name. i have a good friend who owns one. and by today he should be putting somewhere between 300 and 350 hp on 3 mods he purchased. as i said before its the guys who buy them thinking their going to slay evos and stis. i mean srt-4s are really good bang for your buck, BUT its not my cup of tea.
lol look how mad Hypnoz got. Sounds like hes about to explode or something.
He acts like I say my car is faster than an srt4 which I never said.. hrm. I don't think I said it would ever win in an automotive race.
Looks to me like hes acting just like all the rest of the srt4 owners I've met that haven't had something major go wrong with it yet.
Hes clearly just venting to make his e-***** look bigger. I dont go all over srt4 forums and talk about their cars.. so he must be unhappy or envyous of something. I don't know what it could be though.
Of course I just bought a nice dependable college car to semi-fix up.. its no "race" car. lol.

I'm going to try to stay away from the general flamefest that seems to constantly follow Mr. Wiretap and his compatriots, so I'm going to tell a short story.
First and foremost, I like the SRT-4. I liked it since the first time I saw one. For a long period of time, I planned on purchasing one, until I realized I could afford an Evo. I respect the car and try to deflect the SRT-ricer stereotype when anyone starts talking about the car. Regardless, I can not say anything other than that all stereotypes are based in truth. I have yet to see an SRT-4 without a BOV and overt and plentiful stickers. One of them even had underbody neons.
What I do whenever I see this, is just ignore it.
By the way, what does French Connection UK have to do with this?

I would like to add that all you SRT4 owners should chill... not ALL the people on EvoM have obnoxiously large egos and I apologize on behalf of all of us who know there are other quite capable and fun cars out there.

i would trade my modded lancer for one anytime. why? a little thing called power. everyone is ALWAYS talking about it and the srt has it. but some people still hate on it. why? ahh yes! its owners.
i dont see how somone can HONESTLY say the OZ is better then the SRT. in what form or fashion?
In reality though.. I've had my Evo since March 2003.. And in all honesty, the Evo community seems to be degrading to the level of haters and ricers also.. At least in my observations on the street..
I agree, Evo drivers are getting just as bad.

Plus more than half of the Evo owners I've talked to, regardless of age, are total douchebags.

I get blazed when I make the same assessment.
