RX-8?'s

Anyone know of any RX-8 forums? Or if you have any personal experience with one, past or present, would appreciate your thoughts on the car. Thinking of picking up a 2005 GT model (some decent incentives/financing by Mazda this month).

My buddy just traded his in for an EVO... he had the leather,roof,spoiler,6sp., + NAV. package .. It was luxury compared to the evo's interior, so I think it was like the top of the line but he didnt care too much for the performance nor the fact that he got stuck on a little patch of ice this last winter..

I know that doesnt help too much on your decision making but good luck

No EVO's in Canada so that option is out, and it'll be parked in winter so that one is ok too. Thanks for the input anyway though . Would really like to find a good forum and do some reading - I know previous gen wankel's have some bad history, so looking to do some digging into what problems owners have had, if any, with the new model.

Yea I know it ain't terribly fast, but then neither is my RA *L*. Car handles real nice though and is pretty comfortable to drive for a sports car.

I looked at RX-8's but for the $$$ the 350Z was much more car for the cash. The RX-8 handles great but the engine is a slow gutless turd.

Not sure of the pricing comparison in the U.S., but up here even the base 350Z is currently about 8 grand more than the RX-8...

The RX-8 is nice and handles like a dream beacause it's light and has a good weight ratio.... but it sure can't move like an evo

I work at a Mazda Dealership actually, and the RX-8 is pretty decent. It's nice in that it looks like a true sports car but in reality it has fairly comfortable space for 4 adults.

I agree, the RX8 is probaly the slowest over rated car on the market.

I don't like rotary because of reliability issues. They eat oil and their seals tend to go (atleast on the RX-7 they did, at ~60k miles). I'd go with the Z, they're cooler looking, more powerful, and sound awesome.

my friend owns an 05 model, handles like a charm, looks decent, only thing is the car is very underpowered, and also i see mostly here in south florida alota women drive them. his you want something nice, look at a g35 coupe or maybe a s2000.

Well, it's a moot point now anyway...the 2005 model the local dealer said was available, isn't (it was at another dealer and they tried to arrange a swap - can't as it sold already). Going to take a second look at a new 2006 Eclipse GT.

i work at a mazda dealership too, and they are nothing compared to my evo. the shinka is the same but it has little polish feartures. like the triangles that the car has are polished and the silver peices in the head lights and tails are polished also, and the interior has a nice cream like color. and the outside has the blk cherry. if i got one i would get the 6 speed for sure the auto is slower than the mazda 3.

if you want something that looks pretty good and that can hang a curve this is pretty good. but it can not be compared to an evo, thats for sure.
