hey guys whats up my girlfriend is getting an 05 SRT4, i hear stories about how they can beat stock and mildy modded evos from a roll, is this true, are they fast?

It's a nice car but it cannot take a Evo from A roll.... I owned a SRT-4 before and they are nice but they really cannot beat the Evo from a roll if the driver knows how to drive. I would get the Cobalt SS over the SRT-4..... A much better car and they can be modded to 1,000 HP with Turbo....

 

she should get a prius instead.

 

you drive an evo, your gf is thinking of buying an SRT4. thing is by the questions you are asking i am gonna assume you know:
A. nothing about YOUR evo
B. nothing about the car you gf is buying
C. have not been a member here for very long (this srt thing has been beat to shi# more than a few times)
D. outside the site havent done your research on/off this forum

good luck, but you need to look elsewhere for solid advice regarding the srt4.


ps- that comment about the 1000 hp cobalt is really funny.

dude, you can make almost any car make 1000hp. but do you have any idea how much its going to cost you? WAY TOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

 

i did research them and i know the specs, ive just never driven or ridden in one so i wanted to get a first hand account

 

actually, unlike mitsu, chevy is going a long way in trying to make upgrade parts for the ecotec very affordable.
still wouldn't want one though.

Sounds to me your looking to trade in your Evo

 

when the going gets tough.....do everything extra slow so it knows ur in it to **** it off then it will go away

regardless of how much chevy is trying to make modding cheap, 1000hp is NEVER cheap. you will have to buy a better block, bad@ss internals, huge (and i mean HUGE) turbo, etc!!!

Yes, from a roll at certain speeds the SRT-4 should be able to keep up with an EVO if they are both stock so it'll be up to the better driver to win that race. From a stop the SRT-4 has no hope. These are stats from SCC.
