What would insurence costs be like for an 18 year old? I know no one can tell me specifics, but Ive heard bikes insurence is real cheap, and Ive heard its expensive, hahha, so I dont know which one to believe.

Depends on what size bike you get, once you go over 750cc's it gets more expensive, I also remember my insurance dropping in half when I turned 21.

what size bike did you have and what did you pay before you turned 21? I just need to get a general idea of what Im looking at, I want to get a nicer starter bike, but Im not looking to get anything extremly nice, I just want to save on gas and have enough power to have a little fun.

I had an EX500 and I think it was $750 before I turned 21, this was a few years ago and I'm also in Jersey so it's probably much higher then you would pay. I know if you have State Farm for car insurance and insure your bike through them it's only like an extra $250.

Well I went another way, I baught a Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster Custom.
Nice and slow see.......

see the only problem with harleys, especially as starter bikes is that they dont go, stop, handle, or run very well and reliability is key for a beginner

No that was for the year, but remember it's only a 500 cc bike and it was 10 years ago, also over 750 cc's you pay a lot more.
