Shock and other maintinence question.

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer and it squeeks on and off, some days no, some days I turn, hit a bump, anything and it will squeek. I checked in the back and my right rear shock is leaking a bit, should I be worried and get it taken care of or is it not too big of a deal. My sticker runs out in March, I also was wondering how much is the fix cost on this generally? I know the part is no more than $100 dollars but hows the labor on shocks?

I have 98,000 miles on my truck, I was thinking about having it checked over for piece of mind, what should I be worried about replacing, or what should I consider having replaced at this mileage... it has a timing chain not belt and that is fine. If I do replace the shock should I do both in the rear? I just would like a better feel for my vehicle and what mileage I should expect certain things to go, I get a pop sound sometimes in reverse and I think there U-joints. I bought it with 81,000 miles on it and have done nothing but tires, brakes and my check engine light came on for a new gas cap.

98000 miles? Replace all 4 shocks. Especially if one is leaking. Figure $750 for the change (parts and labor).

Try KYB gas Shocks set of 4 should run $300-$400. Summit Racing has a big selection!

Shocks are kinda important. I'd get the leaking one replaced ASAP. The other 3 aren't as important but should be replaced none the less.
