well, a Mirage would be in the same class, but not a Porsche. That's where I was going with the "sedan-type" vehicle. The rules for the "sedan class" state clearly that there must be a "real back seat designed to seat adults" Porsches are in the "sport class". The rules are pretty general, mostly to keep us focused on the racing, instead of lawyering; spending obscene amounts of time arguing about classing because the aftermarket rims are 0.05mm too wide to stay in the same class as last week Then we have 3 sub classes based on displacement. Aside from that, no FI, no gutting the interior or replacing all the body panels with urethane (for example) and no non-DOT-rated R compound tires. If you wanna do any of those, then you have to go to "prepared" sedan or sport. That's it

Because you didn't bother to read any of the thread. Thanks for that comprehensive list of cars that aren't sold in the US.

I know it's not larger than 2.5l, but the Nissan Altima would be close.

what do you care? the question was asked...shouldn't matter why.....

guy at work had a 944s2. 3 liter I4... loved the car and said the motor had tons of torque and a great curve. a good autox motor, but not a 1/4 mile. 944 turbo was better at 1/4.
