We wave when we pass each other, you know? Harleys, Jeeps, even Veedubs have waves from what I understand, so maybe you know what I mean, but the wave is a big part of the Corvette experience.

So the problem is... Vettes are just a little bit too common.
If a Vette were a little more expensive, a little more ugly, something that'd keep it from being a popular trendy car, we wouldn't get so many trendy drivers.

The trendy drivers drive us nuts!

Young single professional with alot of money decides to pick up a hot car to impress his friends and his woman. Vette represents good value and good money, so he picks one up.
He isn't really a Vette guy though. He doesn't like ALL Vettes, he just likes himself in an image car.
So he waves to the other C6s, (perhaps) but he just stares at all the rest of us. He clearly thinks he is too good to wave to the driver of an older Vette. Who does he think he is?!?

You could make a few arguments in his defense perhaps, C4s are ugly, not fast enough, not cool enough, but he does the same friggin' thing to a mid year!
A 67 convertible with the 427, mint! He thinks his car is cooler than that? Idiot!


I get it all the time from C5 owners.
Let me tell you something, I EASILY could have gotten a C5, but I think they're the ugliest Vette by far and not worth the price premium over the sweet C4 I got. I like the digitial dash and the monster torque of the L98. I got what I wanted.

So I guess I should get to the point....

If you ever find yourself in the drivers seat of ANY Corvette, lift up two fingers for us. That's all. Just a little bit of friendliness goes a long way.
When you don't wave, you cheapen the Corvette experience for all of us.

 

hey im a younger guy and i give the wave to all vettes! even make an effort to catch up sometimes just to say hi.

i love all sports cars but there just isnt as much comraderie with them in comparison for some reason. i love when older guys realize its a youger guy driving though. best one ive gotten to date is as follows:

i pull up to a red light and a orange c6 vert pulls up next to me. (the guy driving looks like willie nelson, no lie)
i wave and he looks over at me and yells " nice car!, ya got any tickets in that thang yet?"
i say "no, not yet"
he yells back" ive gotten three"...
i kinda smile and then he hits me with this... "BUT I'VE GOT THE BEST D@MN LAWYER IN THE WORLD... HIS NAME IS GAAAWD"

he then proceeds to test the 0-60 from the light and heads on his way.

 

The C5 is the "ugliest Vette by far and not worth the price premium over the sweet C4 I got."

I have to show this to my friend with a C-5. lol

and @ deepsea: I still like C5's. It's just like saying Candace Cameron is ugly when standing next to Heidi Klum. I'd go for Candace if I could, but she's no Heidi Klum.
