yeah, thats kinda true for most cars though in the US cause of our crash rating standards. I like the japanese shorty bumpers too

Nice choice, but you could've gotten an evo with that money. If not new, you could've gotten one used with low miles. Then again, you said you had a bad experience with your lancer so I could understand how you didn't want to deal with Mitsubishi again.

Either way, congrats amigo!

i didnt have a bad experience with the lancer?, i loved my lancer, it just wanted a new car, and paying more a month for an evo, that feels exactly like my lancer form the inside, wouldnt be worth it to me, plus maintenenace on an evo, is something else, loving it so far,

as for the lip kit, eh, whatever...i do want to tranplant the JDM shorty bumpers, but ilike how the cars looks and feels right now...

...its because the US crash standards are very strict. 5mph crash bars are required on US spec vehicles unfortunately the cheapest way to do it is by extending the bumper out and adding a hard density foam but companies like mercedes/bmw/nissan have found other materials to replace the thick foam giving them the freedom to use the shorty bumpers.

this problem is easily fixable... getting the jdm support/re-bar will easily accommodate most jdm bodykits. while looking at the pictures i noticed the front bumper is similar in length as the jdm vehicles i posted the only thing i can think of that will be a problem would be the rear bumper. The white Legacy i posted above that has the "autoimportcraze.com" logo in the corner is a US Legacy sporting a JDM kit.

I hung around the legacygt forums for a while when shopping for my Evo... You're right you can use the Japanese front bumper support and bar fo use the Japanese bumpers but the American front bumper is a lot longer than the Japanese ones. From an angle you can see the difference. The headlight is the same angle as the Japanese bumper and flows. The American bumper doesn't follow the line of the headlight and sticks out.

Even my previous 240SX, the Japanese model S13s had shorter bumpers. I had to remove my foam piece and trim the bumper support to mount the JDM bumper.

What's interesting is that our Evo and the STI front bumpers don't differ from the Japanese ones.

trust me, it does not feel anything like a lancer from the inside. it might look like it, and remind you of it, but certainly doesn't feel like it while accelrating up to 60 in 4 some secs or less and getting sideways then stopping on a dime.

i was looking at a legacy, but the RS was just as cheap and i wanted evo for it's power. obviously you got better interior and the legacy is less in maintenence and gas. so the legacy is more practical. its just a prefence. nice looking car and I like the color alot. and as always, most of us would have a subie if mitsu didn't exist. congrats.

Should have taken a look at the Mazdaspeed6. For some reason, that car is surprisingly fast even though it is heavier than my Evo. I should just take the Mazdaspeed6 as my demo from work...
