Surpised at how many responded to my previous "Evo Eater" post, here's another link in the same vein.

This is pretty old but there maybe some on this board who have not seen this.

For those who have not, please take the knowledge to educate those who have watched too much Fast n Furious, those who buy Altezzas, those who wish to buy MoTec exhausts, and those who so not know crank hp from wheel hp.

In many ways no.

I'm sure it took a good amount of time, money, and effort to build the SLR replica but in terms of what the real SLR is, a super GT car, the replica falls flat.

I can't imagine the amount of money for R&D and prroduction it cost to produce the real SLR.

A car is more than it's body.

The SLR replica reminds me of those kit car Ferraris and Lamorghinis that were popular in the 80's; I believe they use the old Pontiac Fiero chasis as a baseline.

Anyway, I respect your opinion.

Wow. Props to that guy for making (arguably) good use of his spare time and money. Why? I can't imagine...but I can't knock the job he did.

It's interesting to see stuff like that, reminds me of the NSX that was made into a F50.

yeah, i admire more the skill in recreating the look from scratch than i do the overall replication of the car. even if there was a ton of money dumped into the engine/transmission/suspension/etc i doubt it comes anywhere near the capability of the real thing. i've never been that much of a fan of how it looks even, but my word does it sound amazing at WOT.

That Hood doesn't look too well spaced from the front pics the put up.

I do give an A for effort on the attempt to replicate.
