Gas Mileage Issue!

Alright I have a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4wd. I typically can get 300-315 out of my 20 gallon tank, and that is not with conservative driving. I just got my shocks done, new springs and leaf supports as well, no alignment yet and now I am seemingly getting robbed of mileage per tank... I am at half when I've gone about 115 miles... overall I get 250-260 out of a tank now... that's like 14 miles per gallon if I round UP! Out of a 4.0 and my driving has not changed... I need help with a diagnostic. Thanks

The only possible and remote issue that you might be having is that your tires are installed back in your car with excessive toe and or camber.

This is a real fact that could affect your mileage a bit but not much.

I am into the R/C cars and the manufacturers tune the R/C cars to have some significant toe in so that the R/C cars don't get crazy fast.

If you were changing the tires and rims then I could definately tell you that tires and rims can play a huge role but that is not the case.

Other than that, I don't think there is really anything related to the gas mileage.

Almost forgot, check your awd /rwd engagement, there is a possiblity your were driving before all over town with your RWD engage or perhaps lower gear, check that, it could make that much difference..
