I have a friend with a 1990 LS 400. He took it to a mechanic and from the story i heard, there was oil leaking into the engine and further investigation resulted in a piston with play and the cylinders needing to be bored. So, the mechanic suggested he just get a new engine. This is all from what i heard.

He is being quoted at 1250 to have a rebuilt engine installed into his car. Is this a good price? bad price?
