New car!!!
New car!!!
Well, I sold my Jeep Grand Cherokee and now my 1993 Prelude Si is in the shop for some tuning up. I am so excited about this car because it is the first car I own that I won't have to jump up to get into and that I can take a corner with some inertia and not worry about a roll-over. Anywho, I respect this community of motorists and have to ask your opinion on what I should start doing to this car (Its an automatic btw) and whatnot. Love to hear what you got to say!
don't listen to these guys. I've had more fun in slower cars than what I drive now. My Vette vs. my turbo eclipse vs. my altima
The vette has the most grip and the most power and definately gets through the twisty road the quickest, but I need to be careful about goosing it too much, the ride is rough, and it has a nasty habit of kicking out without warning
The eclipse was the second quickest but it oversteers and (again) is a challenge to drive fast. This time due to the boost which comes on all at once. I am NOT a fan of turbo cars as a daily driver.
The Altima was the best car... it had a 2.4 l engine making 150 hp, not a lot but enough to feel okay. the tires and suspension were the most forgiving, making it easiest to probe the limits. It was safer to push at 100% than the Vette is at 70%.
On top of that, 4 doors, a real trunk, great visibility, etc.....
I think the prelude is probably a great car to learn to drive on. You don't want a car like an EVO when you're starting out, and that is my true, HONEST opinion.
The Evo is so capable, but also so unforgiving. You are going to make mistakes, and it's better for anyone to make them in a car that doesn't let you get so fast. At first anyways....
It's just one of those things.... get yourself a cheaper car and you'll get cheaper tires that start to squeal earlier, the squealing of my tires saved my life a few times... I slowed down and avoided overcooking a turn.
I don't think there's anything wrong with a prelude, or an automatic.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Preludes, but there's a lot wrong with learning to drive fast on a slushbox.
If you're looking to spend some money on going faster, I recommend improving yourself before the car. Get some track time in at an HPDE w/ good instructors. You'll be much faster than you would be by just throwing some mods.

Jackson Racing or Vortec makes nice super chargers kits I believe for the h22, with a supercharger who cares about being auto.
Heck its a honda, everyone and their granny should have something for it
