'07 Solstice GXP 2.0L turbo

Competition for the more expensive, less powerfull Elise/Miata/S2K camp. 260hp/260tq non-intercooled. Only a matter of time before 300hp+ intercooled tuner versions are running around.

Saturns boosted 'Redline' Sky also due out this year for around $30K...

if you haven't seen a miata and a solstice side by side, you can't begin to appreciate how comparatively stupid looking the miata is. Pictures do not do justice to the solstice.

I'd say the opposite. The Miata is classy and elegant (relative to the Solstice) while the Pontiac is kinda cheesy, especially the front end. Of course looks are subjective, so it's good that GM isn't stitting still with the car while it's still "hot".

I'm guessing some sort of pressure sensor.

Probably a smaller Turbo and I bet the evo could get MASSIVE low end torque with like a 14B or a T-25.

Love the ECOTEC motor.. had a 02 cav with that motor and was going to boost it... Its a nice platform..

Hahn has a kit that comes with the 16g or upgrade to a 20g..

Its the diverter valve. Older, small mitsu turbos had a design very similar and I believe the SRT-4 is setup similarly as well. It simply dumps the boost from inside the scroll back (or outlet pipe in this case) out directly in front of the compressor wheel, which you can clearly see in this pic:
