My first love in cars was the Mitsubishi 2nd Gen Eclipse. I always wanted to get that car and long story short I am inlove with the 4th Gen now and want both.

I've been keeping an eye on the 2006 eclipse but another coupe caught my eye. A 2006 Scion TC. I read up on the specs on it and they seem pretty good essecially on a car that starts at $16,300! Now I don't have the finances to get a V6 Eclipse so don't try and throw that in my face.

When I seen the specs on the TC and thought about the 2006 Eclipse something sparked so I checked about the compare option...

Do my eyes decieve me?! The 2006 TC compares to the 2006 Eclipse down to almost every little detail and includes more accesories out of the box without "packages". And the real kicker...Its 400 pounds lighter!

Is there really an reason as to why I should consider getting an Eclipse over the TC and I'm just missing it or is the TC just a better car? What do you guys think and have you heard ant negative things about TC's?

 

at that level it comes down a bit more to the look of the car, inside and out. numbers wise, you're right, the tc just about matches it exactly. if you're on a tight budget, i'd get the TC, hands down. if you can hold off a bit on your purchase (and you really want the eclipse) save up and get the GT, you'll be much happier with it.

 

Hell, it's cheaper go with the TC. Personally, I think the 06 eclipse are butt ugly =|. It only has a few better features than the TC like slightly bigger gas tank and better mpg.

 

i'd take a tc over an eclipse. i've heard a few complaints about some little things in the tc but nothing major. i believe the tc motor also takes well to boost. the only thing the eclipse would get you is there aren't as many of them around for now (until rebates get high then all of the chicks buy them)

 

No hate, but the tc is becoming more like the new Civic, like all these ricers try to tune it up and all.. Lol but it's a good value at that price. Especially withthe panorama sunroof, power everything, and I think it comes with an opitional ipod hookup.
