A very pretty car, but lets wait to see what it looks like when it hits production.

Sorry fellas, won't happen. Back in 2000 there were illustration for a 2002 supra and it never happened. Same thing will happen with this or it will come out as another name. I like the look however, but I agree they need to stay with Inline 6. However, putting together a v8 or v6 is more cost effective.

I am glad to see the Japan GT market coming back, but I'm concerned that each company is going in so many different directions instead of making similarly spec'd cars like they did back in the early 90's.

You either had a 300-320hp 3.0L 6 cylinder turboed engine or you had a ~222hp N/A 6 clyinder for your base model. Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi followed that scheme and had decent results. Mitsubishi sold the most 3000's, followed by Nissan, wheras Tyota brought up the rear a long ways back, but stil sold more cars then the non-formulaic NSX and RX-7.

This time around you've got 100K+ V10 cars coming from Acura and Toyota. Maybe a 60-70K twinturbo V6 and 30K N/A V6 car from Nissan. Mitsubishi, Mazda and Subaru are not even going to try to compete and are sticking to their 4's and n/a rotaries. Maybe this diversity will prove to be better, but it always seems like the market can only support 2 good cars and the other just die off all too quickly, even if they are better performers.

I wish Toyota and Nissan would build back to basics pony cars with V8's that they could sell in the 25-35K range to go up against the Mustang, and upcoming Camaro and Challenger. I think they would have a better shot in this country by making a good car (with far better quality then any GM or Ford prodcut) in that segment. It just seems to me that there is no way a Japanese car can overcome the legendary Corvette or 911 n the 50K+ market.

wut is it with these new concept cars and future cars....is it just me or do they look kinda Z-ish, theres barely any angles on cars these days...they should just make a small dome and build a car under that.

I understand the wishes for the 2jz, I love it, but you have to think of the possibilities of a v8. There are guys already swapping v8s into the supras we have now. Putting superchargers and tt on them. Hell, one guy is even putting in a v12. The current supra is a great car but if you could get the power curve of a viper along with the reliability of a toyota it would be nice. Also, remember that supras weren't built to compete with mustangs they were built to beat the vettes. The current price for the z06 is 60k so expect close to the same if not a bit lower for the supra.
