This is true, your probably right, good post. Still a sweet car.

I still bet you could get at least a 15% increase in power from tuning and minor bolt-ons alone.

Man I love the idea but, most beemers I've been around aren't very reliable. Especially the higher end models.

Even if they are sized small they should be able to make good torque and it is still easier and cheaper to upgrade turbos than it is to build an NA motor to make the same power.

Starting at 40k that means by the time you get what you want on it you're at 50k.

I wonder if they eventually will offer it in an AWD model?

will be a nice car as long as the motor doesn't take days to warm up like the M3. the M3 requires a really long "warm up" period & if you try to go fast early, it will blow up.

I agree, especially since it spools fully by 1500.

You're not supposed to let an m3 "warm up"

I like it too. When was the last time BMW had a turbo car in thier line up?

They also say that the 4.0 v-8 weighs in 150 lbs more than the inline direct injection 6.

Could be a nice car,,,,,, and 50,000 miles worth of free service is a nice perk.

That's not true at all. The M3 warmup period is probably about 5 minutes and it does not "blow up."

That's actually a good price for this car IMO.

Drive the car gently for a couple of minutes and once it reaches normal operating temperatures go WOT...

Aside from the diesels, I think the early/mid-80's 745i turbo were the last, and the 2002 Turbo's were the first. Only 2 production gas turbo cars ever.
