Angry This is just stupid

Last night I went to my local Subaru dealership asking about the STi. They quoted me $48,000 - 50,000 Canadian Dollars. That's about $33 - 34,500 US Dollars and they said this is MSRP. Are they jerking me around? Cars in Canada are usually cheaper then the US. They also said there will only be 300 released to Canada.

I got the same in toronto, i was at the mitsu dealer, adn just stopped by the subaru to check it out and they said the exact same thing. it makes sense considering a wrx goes for about 33,000 to start in canada.

I was expecting low to mid 40K. I didn't realize they will be arriving in around 6 weeks either.

6 weeks = almost June. Sounds about right. Maybe a few weeks premature at most I'd guess.

Maybe because the weather has still felt like mid-March. It's going to get a lot warmer next week (in New England).

I forgot to mention...the price doesn't shock me (though I know very little about pricing in Canadia). Seems like it's going to be a fairly expensive car to manufacture for its price range (if that makes any sense).

Price range is based upon manufacuring expense as well as marketing research

Seems some manufacturer are giving pretty good exchange rate and some don't...

Seems also that the exchange rate is not the same between all models from the same company...

Prices...

Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
Can : 31 900$ US : 21 277$ RATIO : 1.499

Mitsubishi Eclipse RS
Can : 23 857$ US : 18 167$ RATIO : 1.313

Mitsubishi Lancer OZ
can : 19 997$ US : 15 800$ RATIO : 1.266

Subaru WRX
Can : 34 995$ US : 24 295$ RATIO : 1.440

Subaru 2.5RS
Can : 26 995$ US : 19 195$ RATIO : 1.406

ACURA RSX Type-S
Can : 31 300$ US : 23 270$ RATIO : 1.345

Honda Civic Si-R (Civic SI in the US)
Can : 25 500$ US : 19 000$ RATIO : 1.342

The RATIO is the exchange rate... I haven't add the 7% taxe in Canada + TVQ or GST that some place like here (Quebec) is 7.5%...

So Evo_Dan, seems that Subaru don't want us to ride fast cars...
And it seems that Mitsubishi don't want me to buy an Eclipse GT... hehehe
