2001 Audi RS4 vs Evo

Im talking about one of these.

http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z...4/default.aspx

How fast are these things on the highway? I dont care about from a dig...im talking about 40mph and above.

Anyone here actually ran one of these on the highway? Remember only if you raced it on a closed course or track

They are 380bhp stock and weigh about 3,650lbs. - with a chip and exhaust, he's probably making 440bhp

The RS4 was a Wagon only (fyi).

You should have no problems keeping up on the highway.

You should had no problem to beat him since your car will output over 500whp on 30psi.

that thread was filled with beautiful pictures of the new one, however the OP is asking about the old one. the wagon rs4 with v6 twin turbo.

i have no actual experience with the older rs4...but based on their stock power output and with ur set up u should be able to destroy it.

Stock Evo has no chance in the straights.

my friends evo that has basic bolt ons like intake, vpro and catback got dusted by one on the straights. I think my 35R at 26psi should hang with it.

On to performance....
I have a 2000 S4, granted it's not a RS4, but still. Same engine, just smaller turbo's.
They make peak torque @ 1800rpms all the way to almost redline! They pull like a freight train! A modded EVO will kill it off line, but once you get to 100mph, the Audi will start to pull. Usually the Audi will take you from a roll due to the flat torque curve. They are dam fast on the Free way! But very different from the EVO. There are no dead spots in the power band, like the EVO.

They handle like slugs compared to the EVO.

There are only about 5, B5 RS4 (2000-2002) privately imported into the US.
A lot of Stage 3 S4 (some running RS4 parts) people are running around 400+hp & 500ftlbs of torque. They are fast!

Like the EVO the chip in my S4 does 70hp & 100ftlbs!

^^^ i would have to see some documentation on a factory b5 rs4 sedan. i'm sure that never existed.

lol, you changed your post before i got done.

the s4/rs4 are nice, fast cars but man they need to go on a diet
once they need to turn, or brake more than a couple time from speed it's all over.

btw, do you do any track events with the audi club? ever come down this way? we can alway use more people at the events.
