Looks like I will be getting the STI then looking for the Evo's in a very short time
When it shows, we need some real life comparisons and I am game. Yes, I will drive the Evo and STI back to back before the final decision is made for my money.

hey favre how you's it going ? yea, its me again.
i still havent seen your car out in the street. i've been looking very hard to catch a glimps of it in town but had no luck so far.
i hope you're enjoying it.
anyways, since the price for the sti has been released and its $31.500, not the $35000 a lot of dealers had told me before im leaning more towards the sti now.
i will be gettin the white/with gold wheels around feb/2004.

It is still $1500 more than the Evo. The Evo is still the better handler, has better steering response, better seats, roomier, etc.
Will the Sti be quicker?? Who knows. I doubt they'll be much quicker than the 13.1-13.5's the Evo's are running stock. Seems like a pretty close comparison. In my opinion it comes down to things such as appearance, room, etc.
Also, the Evo already has a huge aftermarket and will probably respond better to mods. I'd rather do a few simple mods to increase hp than do suspension work to try and make a better handling car.
I doubt it will hurt the Evo sales. Why would it? Do you REALLY get more car for the money even though it's 1500 more?? I don't think you do, imo. Big deal you get dccd and a 6-speed for the 1500. You also don't get a radio
Some will say getting no radio is a plus...I'd disagree..the stock Evo stereo/cd player is fine with me....SO there goes $500+ more dollars you have to spend to even get a stereo in the Sti.

favre, is he getting as soon as they get it? i just have to wait til feb next year cuz i have to save a bit more money for the downpayment. i have told the manager at the dealer that i'll be back at their location to get the car and im going to keep my word. anyways, if you want to drop by and say hello i manage the nextel/sprint store at macarthur blvd and outerpark.
later...
later...
Wow, you'd rather have some cheap paper cone speakers having factory radio then a 6spd gear box, DCCD and a front LSD?????? More power to ya man, glad you're happy
What I'm saying is the factory stereo is just fine. I'm glad it ccame with one that I didn't have to pay extra for..that's all. I was also pointing out the Sti will be $2000+ more than the Evo once you get a stereo. I'm not worried about having a 6-speed. The Evo's 5 with doubl/triple synchros is a great close ratio tranny. So, then the question comes to...would I pay more for the Sti because of dccd and lsd....NO. Everyone...including Shiv thinks the Evo is the better handler despite the fact it lacks acd or dccd and an lsd. It seems the Evo has a better suspension setup..plain and simple.
broeli, why are you being so defensive? i dont think anyone here is saying which car is better or what not. we are just discussing how interesting it is now that the price of the sti are out. i like both cars, the evo and the sti.
they are both great bang for the money. im glad i even get a choice to choose which of these cars to get.
