New MazdaSpeed 6 GT
I drove my friends MazdaSpeed 6 GT today. His was fully loaded,ie.,leather,BOSE,power everything.I know the power it makes but it is lost in translation. It's extremely quiet inside and has no outworldly notification of a intercooled turbo under the hood.It has a ram-air system for the intercooler that sits on top of the engine, similar to the Subi's.Clutch is real short and precise.Six speed is short and precise. My friend seemed more interested in driving my EVO when he gets the chance. This was coming from a great guy who has been shot at by AK-47's.
AAANDDD?
it still goes from 0-60 in what about 6 seconds. people who think this is compitition is smoking crack.
The yawn wasnt because he was shot that yawn is because that car is Ghey

i test drove one it was a fantastic luxury sport sedan, more luxury than sport for sure. if it had more and useful power it would be a fun car to own. not even close to an evo though even if it had the extra power
I wanted him to keep his Cobra but his life is never calm.Check him out in this chase:http://www.wfaa.com/perl/common/vide...dashcam_am.wmv

Hey guys, I accidentally created a thread also about the Mazda6, well since this was created first, I'll post my post in here.

I was reading the newspaper and saw a review of the new Mazda6.
All wheel drive, 2.3 liter engine with 274hp and 280tq (I think the sales for the RX-8 will drop because this looks so much better)
The starting price is $27995 for the Sport model and the Grand Touring is $29925 - has leather and power sunroof.

Review by Mark Phelan – Detroit Free Press:
The sporty Mazdaspeed 6 isn’t an old dog, but it’s learned some exiting new tricks for 2006. The 274 horsepower, all-wheel-drive 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 elevates the best Japanese-branded midsize sedan to new levels of performance and fun. That it does so without losing the comfort and practically that made the vehicle a successful family car is a tribute to Mazda’s drive train and chassis engineers.
The Mazda 6 sedan won immediate acclaim for its looks, handling and value when it went on sale in 2001. The turbocharged Mazdaspeed 6 ups the ante on all those virtues. Mazda let its engineers play when they developed this max performance version of the 6, and they’re probably still grinning.
While the Mazdaspeed 6 I tested had a couple of flaws, the car is such an enjoyable and affordable pocket rocket that its owners will almost certainly feel the same way.
I tested the base Mazdaspeed 6 Sport model which lists at $27,995.
The Grand Touring model adds leather upholstery and a power sunroof and stickers at $29,995. All prices exclude destination charges.
The Mazda 6 I tested had poor steering feel and an annoying rattle but the car's performance and practicality make it a winner.
Exterior differences from the standard Mazda6 sedan include a bulging hood, chrome-tipped dual exhausts, 18inch tires with multi spoke alloy wheels and enlarged fender flares.
Simply put, the Mazdaspeed 6 is a stealth fighter, a top-flight sport sedan that blends into the pack of commuters until you floor the accelerator. Then the engine howls, the chassis hunkers down and the grippy tires snap the car into action.
The Mazdaspeed 6's free-revving 2.3 liter, four cylinder engine is among the most advanced and powerful on the road. It combines a quick response turbo- charger with direct gasoline injection to generate a head-snapping 280 foot pounds of torque at just 3000 revolutions per minute.
There's not much torque available below 1,200 rpm, so the engine initially felt a little touchy and stall prone. But once I found its sweet spot, the Mazdaspeed 6 was very smooth and easily handled, with powerful acceleration in every gear and none of the high-maintenance touchiness that plagues many highly tuned engines.
The six speed manual transmission had short, quick throws from one gear to another, but it felt a little rubbery and imprecise to me. The four wheel disc brakes have a firm and progressive feel. Antilock brakes are standard.
The electronically controlled all wheel drive system transferred power smoothly from the front to rear wheels. It reacts to wheel spin so quickly that I never encountered any toque steer, which is when a powerful engine causes the front wheels to stray right and left under hard acceleration. The car's AWD system can direct as much as half the engine's torque to the rear wheels.
No amount of electronic drive train management can overcome the wrong set of ties, though, and the Mazdaspeed 6 that I tested had an excellent set of Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires replacing its standard summer tires.
Any Mazdaspeed owner living north of, say Knoxville, Tenn., and corresponding points extending east and west should invest in winter tires.
The car's suspension is considerable stiffer than the base Mazda6. The car remained flat and steady through high-speed curves, but it still absorbed most bumps comfortably.
I didn’t care for the variable assist power steering, however. It did not provide enough boost in low speed parking lot maneuvers and felt light and over assisted on deceleration.
The interior is attractive, with good cloth bucket seats, legible orange-lit gauges and simple logical controls. However, the driver's side window made an annoying rattle every time I closed it.
Its flaws notwithstanding, I’d take the Mazdaspeed 6 any day of the week over comparably prices midsized sedans such as the Acura TSX, Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry or Volkswagen Passat.

So what do you guys think?
Sounds to me like he has never driven a Evo

Sounds to me like he has never driven a Evo
Here is a picture I found online, it's kinda similar:
I sell these cars for a living, and to be honest, if I could get another as a daily, I would get the Mazdaspeed6. My Evo is much quicker, much better handling, much easier to mod, but in the end, the Evo isn't meant to be as comfortable. The Mazdaspeed6 is designed as a sporty family sedan/lower end luxury vehicle. The Grand Tourings come standard with heated leather seats, bose audio, moonroof, advanced keyless entry (which I admit is kinda neat). There is no other car like to Evo, not even the STi can compare, but the Mazdaspeed6 was never meant to compete against the Evo. On paper, the numbers might look similar, mazda never advertised the vehicle to be compared to the hard edged rally bred vehicles. It was designed and built as a spearhead to up the slowing Mazda6 sales before the complete redesign due in the fall of 07.
It's a 100-0 AWD, not a true all wheel drive. Meaning, it's front wheel drive 100% until the front starts to slip, then trans power to the rear. I test drove one before buying the EVO, and the small turbo had very little lag, but died up top. The interior is nice, but in the end, I wanted more of a 50/50 AWD, a true handling machine like the EVO.
