I left work last night, heading for home, when a black Mustang GT rolls along side me. The guy rolled down his window and asked if my car was the new Evo, I said yeah, and he said "third gear, lets go!" I heard him downshift into third and nail it, so ignoring all sense, I banged down to third and went for it. It went something like this... I jumped out about a car-length ahead of him immediately and then through all third, fourth and into fifth I was steadily pulling away until I got to around 140 at which point I was about fifteen car-lengths ahead. After slowing down to the speed limit, he again pulled along side and told me "that's one bad ride!" I thanked him and exited off the next ramp. I was prepared for the usual salute from a defeated challenger but the guy was pretty cool about it.
